What were you doing when it happened?

So, what were you all doing?

I work the graveyard shift as a security guard at the James Scott building downtown. The janitor, Mort, he must be like, 83 or something. They just took him, right in front of me. I couldn't believe it. I just couldn't believe it. I'm still at work, posting from my desktop PC. Normally we're not supposed to do that, but I hardly think it matters now. I sure am glad to have my gun though, but I have to admit, I'm not sure if I'll want to leave when my shift ends. What if the guy on the next shift never shows up? Should I stay? Should I get the heck out of here while I still can?

Re: What were you doing when it happened?

My girlfriend and I were watching Air Force One at my place. I went in to the kitchen to get another cup of coffee and when I was walking back, she just…she vanished in this orange flash of light! The look on her face. OMG the look on her face! It was just a second, but she was terrified and I couldn't do anything. I just stood there like an idiot with my mouth hanging open. I can't believe I didn’t do anything to save her.

Re: What were you doing when it happened?

I was watching TV and surfing the 'net when suddenly everything quit on me. TV, radio, internet, everything. I didn't realize what was up until Tina's site came back online. I was the first one to post about all of this.

Re: What were you doing when it happened?

I was on the road in my 18-wheeler when suddenly all the cars around me started ramming into each other, flying off the interstate, into the median, going all over the place. Man, it was a real mess. I spilled coffee all over myself and nearly ditched my big rig.

Thankfully, I was able to keep it together and I pulled off at the next exit. I pulled into a small motel and that's where I'm at now. They've got internet hookup here, so I'm able to use my laptop. There wasn't anybody at the front desk though and I haven't seen or heard anyone else in the hotel since I got here. I helped myself to a room key and here I am. I'll tell you all the truth, I'm a big dude and it takes a lot to rattle me, but this is some scary stuff, man.

Re: What were you doing when it happened?

It was about midnight here. I work at my parents' diner right downtown. Most everybody in the place (including my parents) was taken except for me and some other dude who had been there since before I started my shift. After it happened, we looked at each other and then he took off.

Like many of you, this has me really rattled. At first I thought it was just all the coffee I've had tonight, but it's good to know I'm not the only one totally freaked out by all this.

I'm still not sure that we're being invaded, though. I'm really more nervous that maybe we've all missing something really big. Maybe the best even ever, and for some reason we weren't asked to come along.

I was delivering pizza for Don Vito's. The customer I was delivering to was abducted right in front of me. I flew back to work after that at about 100 MPH. The streets were full of abandoned cars and work is empty. I'm posting from my boss's laptop right now. I haven't seen a soul since that guy vanished.

Like EO, I was surfing the internet. I still haven't been able to reach my family. I won't quit trying though.

Re: What were you doing when it happened?

I just got off working the late shift. I was relaxing and just staring out my balcony window when I saw THEM abduct some dude walking his dog. I was so freaked out, I dropped my mug of coffee on my lap and nearly blistered my…ummm..self. You have no idea how glad I am that you guys are here or I'd be going crazy!

Re: What were you doing when it happened?

I was supposed to get up in a bout an hour and go to work the early shift, so I was drinking a cup of coffee in bed with my wife. She disappeared. My kids are gone. I can't believe this is happening! I can't believe it…
