AGT

Das Adventure Game Toolkit (AGT) basiert auf dem 1985 von Mark J. Welch als Shareware programmierten Textadventure-Autorensystem Generic Adventure Game System (GAGS), das von 1987-1992 von David Malmberg kommerziell weiterentwickelt wurde und danach als Freeware zur Verfügung stand. Es unterstützte ursprünglich nur DOS, wurde dann aber u.a. auch für Microsoft Windows, Macintosh und Amiga-Systeme implementiert. 1986 wurde der Softworks AGT contest als erster Wettbewerb für Textadventures ins Leben gerufen, der über das Compuserve Gamer's-Forum ausgetragen wurde. 1993 fand mit dem aufkommenden Internet die letzte Veranstaltung statt.
